Introduction
Welcome to the GODUMSITE community! We're building a supportive space where people can learn about health conditions, discover the benefits of fruits and vegetables, and explore the healing properties of herbs and spices.
To keep this community welcoming, respectful, and valuable for everyone, we ask that you follow these guidelines when participating in comments, discussions, or any community features on our site. These guidelines apply to all user interactions, whether on our website, social media channels, or any other GODUMSITE platform.
Our Community Vision
We believe that health information is better shared. The GODUMSITE community is a place where:
- Beginners feel welcome: No question about health is too basic. We all start somewhere on our wellness journey.
- Experienced individuals share wisdom: Your personal experience with a health condition or natural remedy can help someone else.
- Different perspectives are valued: Everyone's body responds differently. Share your experience without dismissing others'.
- Respect is non-negotiable: We disagree without being disagreeable. We challenge ideas, not people.
- Learning is the goal: Every interaction should leave us all a little more informed about health and wellness.
- Safety comes first: We never recommend dangerous practices or discourage seeking professional medical care.
These guidelines exist to protect that vision and ensure everyone feels safe participating, regardless of their health knowledge, background, or experience level.
The Golden Rule
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Before you post, ask yourself:
- Would I say this to someone's face?
- Would I want my comment read aloud in a room full of people?
- Am I adding value, or just adding noise?
- Am I assuming good faith, or looking for a fight?
- Could my comment cause someone harm if they follow it for health advice?
If the answer gives you pause, take a breath and reconsider. Kindness costs nothing, and health discussions require extra care.
Be Respectful
Respectful disagreement is welcome. Disrespectful behavior is not. You can disagree with someone's health opinion without attacking their character.
Do:
- Disagree with ideas, not people
- Explain your reasoning with evidence or personal experience
- Assume good faith – most people aren't trying to upset you
- Apologize if you unintentionally offend someone
- Give others the benefit of the doubt, especially beginners in health topics
- Acknowledge when someone makes a good point, even if you disagree overall
Don't:
- Attack, insult, or belittle others
- Use name-calling or personal attacks
- Dismiss someone's lived health experience
- Be intentionally provocative ("trolling")
- Engage in prolonged arguments that add no value
- Use sarcasm to mock or demean others
Examples of unacceptable comments:
- "That's the dumbest thing I've ever read about health."
- "Only an idiot would use that remedy."
- "You clearly don't know anything about your condition."
Better ways to disagree:
- "I see it differently. Here's what worked for me..."
- "Have you considered this alternative perspective?"
- "In my experience, that hasn't been true. Here's what happened..."
Stay On Topic
Keep comments relevant to the article or discussion thread. This helps everyone find valuable information and keeps conversations focused.
Do:
- Comment on the health topic being discussed
- Ask related questions about the illness, fruit, vegetable, herb, or spice
- Share relevant personal experiences with the topic
- Provide useful additional information that complements the article
- Suggest related topics for future coverage
Don't:
- Go off on unrelated tangents about other health topics
- Use comments to promote your unrelated agenda
- Hijack threads for your own purposes
- Post the same comment on multiple articles
No Spam or Self-Promotion
Our community is for learning and discussion – not for selling. We want genuine conversations, not promotional content.
What's NOT allowed:
- Posting links to your own content (blog, YouTube, social media) without context
- Promoting businesses, products, or services
- Recruiting for affiliate programs
- Posting referral links
- Repeatedly promoting the same supplement, product, or service
- Dropping links without explanation
- DMing users with promotions (if that feature exists)
What IS allowed (in limited circumstances):
- Sharing a relevant health resource that genuinely adds value to the discussion (not just self-promotion)
- Mentioning a product you use, with clear disclosure if you have an affiliate relationship
- Answering a question with a link to a helpful health resource (not your own)
When in doubt: Ask yourself – am I sharing this to help, or to promote? If it's primarily promotional, don't post it.
Be Honest and Transparent
Trust is the foundation of any community, especially one discussing health matters. Please be honest about who you are and what you're sharing.
Do:
- Use a consistent username (helps build reputation)
- Be transparent about conflicts of interest
- Disclose if you have a financial relationship with a product you're recommending
- Share your health experiences honestly – both positive and negative
- Acknowledge when you're sharing an opinion versus a medical fact
- Correct your mistakes when you realize you were wrong about health information
Don't:
- Create fake accounts to support your arguments (sock puppeting)
- Pretend to be a medical professional if you're not
- Fail to disclose that you work for a company you're recommending
- Share testimonials or results that aren't genuine
- Exaggerate your health credentials or expertise
No Health Misinformation
Health misinformation can cause real harm. This is our strictest guideline. Help us keep the community accurate and safe.
Do:
- Share information you can verify from reliable health sources (CDC, WHO, Mayo Clinic, peer-reviewed studies)
- Provide links to sources when possible
- Acknowledge when something is your personal experience, not medical fact
- Correct your mistakes when you make them
- Ask questions if you're unsure about a health claim
Don't:
- Share false or misleading health information
- Spread conspiracy theories about medicine or health
- Make claims about cures without scientific evidence
- Promote dangerous treatments or discourage proven medical care
- Give advice that contradicts established medical guidelines
If you see health misinformation, respectfully correct it with evidence from reputable sources. Don't just attack the person – provide helpful context and sources.
No Personal Medical Advice
This is a critical guideline. GODUMSITE is for education and discussion – not personalized medical advice.
What You CAN Share:
- General information about health conditions, nutrition, and herbs
- "What worked for me" personal experiences (with appropriate disclaimers)
- Questions about understanding medical information
- General wellness tips
What You CANNOT Share:
- Diagnosing someone's medical condition
- Telling someone to stop taking prescribed medication
- Recommending specific treatments without proper context
- Giving advice that overrides professional medical guidance
Always include disclaimers like: "I'm not a doctor, but here's what helped me..." or "Please consult your healthcare provider before making changes to your treatment plan."
Remember: Every person's health situation is unique. What worked for you could be harmful to someone else.
Protect Privacy
Respect your privacy and others' privacy. The internet is public and permanent.
Do:
- Keep personal health details vague when sharing your situation
- Use caution when discussing specific medications or treatments you're using
- Share general health experiences without identifying details
- Consider using a username that doesn't reveal your real name
Don't:
- Post personal information about yourself (address, phone, full name, medical record numbers)
- Post personal information about others (doxxing)
- Share private conversations without permission
- Encourage others to share private medical information
Remember: Comments are public and permanent. Anyone can read them – including future employers, insurance companies, and unfortunately, bad actors. Protect yourself and others.
No Hate Speech or Harassment
This is non-negotiable. We have zero tolerance for hate speech or harassment of any kind. GODUMSITE is a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of background.
We do not allow content that promotes or encourages:
- Racism, sexism, or discrimination based on protected characteristics
- Hatred or violence against individuals or groups
- Bullying, intimidation, or targeted harassment
- Stalking or unwanted attention
- Threats of violence or harm
- Discrimination based on health conditions or disabilities
This applies to all users – whether they're regular community members, first-time commenters, or even the blog owner. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected.
Discussing Health Conditions
Sharing Personal Experiences
- Share what you've learned from your own health journey
- Be clear that your experience may not apply to others
- Never claim that something that worked for you is a universal cure
- Remember that symptoms vary widely between individuals
Asking Questions
- All questions are welcome, no matter how basic
- Be respectful when asking about sensitive health topics
- Remember that commenters are sharing personal experiences, not medical expertise
Discussing Treatments and Remedies
Natural Remedies and Herbs
- Share traditional uses and your personal experiences
- Always include safety information when relevant
- Don't claim herbs can cure serious diseases
- Remind others to research and consult professionals
Dietary Advice
- Share nutritional information based on evidence
- Acknowledge that dietary needs vary by individual
- Don't shame others for their food choices
- Remember that what works for you may not work for someone with different health conditions
Moderation Practices
Our goal is to moderate as little as possible and as much as necessary. Here's how we approach moderation:
What We Moderate:
- Comments that violate these guidelines
- Health misinformation that could cause harm
- Spam and self-promotion
- Harassment and hate speech
- Personal medical advice
- Dangerous or misleading health claims
- Legal issues (copyright, illegal content)
What We Don't Moderate:
- Respectful disagreement
- Different opinions based on personal experience
- Questions from beginners (we welcome all questions!)
Moderation Actions:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Edit | In rare cases, we may edit a comment to remove a violation while preserving the rest (e.g., removing a dangerous health claim). |
| Delete | Comments that violate guidelines may be deleted entirely. |
| Warning | First-time or minor violations may receive a warning via email or comment reply. |
| Temporary Ban | Repeated violations may result in temporary suspension (7-30 days). |
| Permanent Ban | Severe violations (dangerous health advice, hate speech, harassment) may result in immediate permanent ban. |
Moderation is not always immediate. We're a small team, and we may not see violations right away. Please be patient and report issues rather than escalating conflicts.
Reporting Violations
If you see a comment that violates these guidelines, please report it. You help keep the community safe for everyone.
How to Report:
- Email: godumsite@gmail.com with "Community Report" in the subject line
- Contact form: Visit our Contact Us page
What to Include:
- Link to the specific comment or thread
- Brief description of the violation
- Any relevant context (especially if it involves dangerous health advice)
- Your username (optional, but helpful for follow-up)
Do not:
- Engage with the violator – this often makes things worse
- Take moderation into your own hands
- Publicly call out the violator in comments
We will review all reports and take appropriate action. We may not respond individually to every report, but we read them all.
Consequences for Violations
We follow a progressive enforcement approach, but reserve the right to skip steps for severe violations (especially dangerous health misinformation).
| Violation Severity | Examples | Typical Consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Minor | Off-topic, mild incivility, accidental self-promotion | Comment removal + warning |
| Moderate | Repeated minor violations, disrespectful behavior, spam | Temporary ban (7-30 days) |
| Severe | Dangerous health misinformation, harassment, hate speech | Immediate permanent ban |
Note: These are guidelines, not rigid rules. We consider context, intent, and history when making moderation decisions.
Appeals Process
We're human, and we sometimes make mistakes. If you believe your comment was removed unfairly or you were banned in error, you can appeal.
How to Appeal:
- Email us at godumsite@gmail.com with "Appeal" in the subject line
- Include your username and the content that was moderated
- Explain why you believe the moderation was incorrect
- Be respectful in your appeal – aggression will not help your case
What We Consider:
- The specific comment and context
- Our guidelines and whether they were actually violated
- Your history in the community
- Any new information we didn't have initially
- Whether the content could potentially harm someone's health
We will review appeals within 7-10 business days. The decision on appeal is final.
Please note: Repeated frivolous appeals may be ignored.
